Vision

Only regions that face the challenges of structural change which come with globalisation will achieve sustainable growth. This is why we teach and research how regions at varying development stages can configure and utilize their development potential to its fullest.

Cultural geography is focussed on social, cultural and political aspects of spatial development and the spatial dimension of human actions. Therefore, teaching and research concentrates on how current and socially relevant developments influence cities and regions and how required measures can be implemented.

We are looking forward to dedicated students and ongoing scientists interested in being in the vanguard of research.
