New research associate in economic geography: Niels Wendt

On the 1st of April 2023, Niels Wendt joined the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography at Leibniz Universität Hannover. After completing his Bachelor in Geography (B.A.) and his Master in Economic Geography (M.A.), he was employed at the Institute of Development and Agricultural Economics at Leibniz Universität Hannover for several years and, among other duties, participated in the conduct of several large-scale household surveys in South-East Asia, e.g. the "Thailand Vietnam Socio Economic Panel". Simultaneously he is working on his dissertation titled “Global environmental change, economic globalization and adaptation of livelihood strategies of rural Thai households” at the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography. Niels Wendt will participate in the project "Entrepreneurship in ländlichen Räumen: Umfang, Bestimmungsgründe und regionalökonomische Effekte (EntreLR)“ (2021 – 2024), funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture as well as in the German team of the "Global Entrepreneurship Monitor".
